Data Analyst
Request for Proposal (RFP)
The Mahogany Project (TMP Inc.) is a small nonprofit organization seeking a qualified Data Analyst to assist with the cleanup and organization of our donor and funding data. The data is currently stored in a spreadsheet and a CRM platform. The anticipated outcome of this project is a clear, easy-to-understand funding pipeline and dashboard. This project will focus exclusively on data management and organization, while strategic planning will remain the responsibility of our internal team.
Scope of Work
The selected Data Analyst will be responsible for:
1. Data Cleaning and Organization
Clean and standardize donor and funding data from each source.
Remove duplicate or inconsistent data entries.
Ensure accuracy and consistency of donor records.
2. Data Categorization
Create clear, consistent categories for donor types, including:
Individual Givers: one-time, annual, monthly, etc.
Foundation Grants
Endowments
Corporate Sponsorships
Assign each donor and donation to the appropriate category and incorporate notes into their file.
Establish clear guidelines for future data entry and categorization.
3. Data Reporting and Pipeline Creation
Develop an easy-to-follow data pipeline that supports budget forecasting and funding goals for the next three years.
Provide a report summarizing donor categories, giving trends, and funding sources.
Refine TMP’s user-friendly template for ongoing data tracking and reporting.
Deliverables
● Cleaned and organized donor data files.
● A categorized list of donors and donations.
● A report summarizing donor trends and funding sources.
● A pipeline template or dashboard for future data management and tracking.
Project Timeline
● RFP Released: April 28, 2025
● Proposal Deadline: May 31, 2025
● Project Start Date: June 2025
● Project Completion: Within 4–6 weeks from the start date

● Brief company or personal background and relevant experience.
● Approach to completing the scope of work.

● Budget and pricing breakdown.
● Two references from similar projects.
Proposal Evaluation Criteria
● Experience with nonprofit data management.
